STONE WOOL

Stone wool is a thermal and acoustic insulation material obtained by melting volcanic rocks such as basalt, diabase, and dolomite at 1400-1500°c and transforming them into fiber. Comprising 97% natural fiber, it stands out with its water-repellent and fire-resistant properties. It has a fiber diameter of 3-5 microns and a density ranging from 40 to 200 kg/m³.

It is produced in different sizes and technical specifications in the form of blankets, boards, pipes, and loose-fill. Thanks to special treatments applied to its fibrous structure, it repels water while allowing vapor permeability, preventing moisture retention. Its dimensional stability prevents it from being affected by temperature changes, and its long fiber structure allows for smooth cutting and lamination.

With its low thermal conductivity coefficient, it provides effective thermal insulation while absorbing noise and vibrations, ensuring acoustic comfort. Bonus stone wool is classified as an a1 non-combustible material and is manufactured in compliance with ts en 13162 and ts en 14303 standards, offering superior fire safety and insulation in buildings.

Features of Stone Wool

  • Provides thermal, sound, and fire insulation.
  • Thermal conductivity coefficient (λ) ranges from 0.035 W/mK to 0.040 W/mK.
  • Its inorganic structure prevents bacterial growth.
  • Exposure to heat and humidity does not cause dimensional changes.
  • Does not deteriorate, decay, mold, corrode, or rustover time.
  • The stone wool, which undergoes special treatments on all fiber layers, has a saturated structure that repels water while allowing vapor permeability, preventing moisture retention inside buildings.
  • Structures insulated with stone wool become healthier and more comfortable.
  • The long fiber structure allows for precise cutting and lamination, ensuring smooth edges and surfaces.
  • Withstands temperatures up to 1000°C, making it highly effective in fire insulation.
  • Provides excellent sound insulation due to its fibrous composition.
  • Classified as an A1 non-combustible material (TS EN-13501).

Bonus Stone Wool Production Process

  • The high-temperature unburnt air released during raw material melting is reused in the production process, reducing the required energy amount.
  • Impurities accumulating in the melting furnace are separated using special technology.
  • This advanced technology minimizes the amount of shot (non-fibrous stone) in the product, thereby maximizing product quality.

EUCEB-Certified Stone Wool Products

Our EUCEB-certified stone wool products certify that the fibers pose no harm to human health and carry no carcinogenic risk, emphasizing our commitment to both workers’ health during installation and the well-being of end users. By adopting environmentally friendly production processes, we contribute to sustainable building projects while respecting nature.

EUCEB-certified stone wool products not only provide superior thermal and acoustic insulation but also ensure high fire resistance, enhancing safety standards in buildings.
