Membrane
A membrane is a waterproofing material used to protect structures from the negative effects caused by water. It is used to provide comfortable waterproofing for living spaces. The corrosion of reinforcements in the load-bearing sections of buildings significantly reduces the system's load-carrying capacity.
Areas of Application for Membrane:
- Foundations and retaining walls
- Roofs
- Terraces
- Wet areas
- Viaducts
- Tunnels
- Pools
- Canals and ponds
Bitumen reinforced with polymers achieves its final properties by using polyester or fiberglass carriers, which provide different tensile, tear, and puncture resistance. The adaptability to various details and climate conditions, as well as ease of application and use, proportional to the carrier properties, are key advantages that set bituminous membranes apart from other waterproofing materials.
How to Apply?
Bituminous waterproofing membranes should be applied to dry, oil-free, dust-free, clean, and smooth surfaces such as concrete or wood, as specified in the details of TS 11758/2, and should be applied during dry weather conditions. The membranes should be stored at temperatures above +5°C for 24 hours prior to application and should be applied at temperatures above +5°C.
