Regional Seminars on Energy Efficiency in Buildings Held in Ankara as the 7th Stop in Cooperation with İZODER
The 7th meeting of the “Regional Training Program on Energy Efficiency in Buildings,” implemented through the collaboration of the General Directorate of Professional Services of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and İZODER, was held in Ankara on December 11. The training session took place at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Conference Hall with the participation of industry representatives.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Burak Demiralp, İZODER Chairman of the Board Emrullah Eruslu, Governor of Ankara Vasip Şahin, Head of the Energy Efficiency and Environment Department (EVÇED) Bilal Düzgün, TOBB Board Member Selçuk Öztürk, and Vice Chairman of the TOBB Türkiye HVAC Council Mehmet Şanal. The seminar was attended by approximately 500 participants, including Provincial Directors of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change from Ankara, Bartın, Bolu, Düzce, Çankırı, Eskişehir, Karabük, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Yozgat, and Zonguldak, along with technical personnel from the directorates, licensing and occupancy permit units of relevant administrations, professional chambers, building inspection organizations, material manufacturers, project designers, engineers, and architects.
In his opening speech, Bonus Yalıtım CEO and İZODER Chairman Emrullah Eruslu stated that İZODER has been making intensive efforts for 32 years to increase insulation awareness throughout Türkiye and said:
“With the revised TS 825 Standard, our U-values have been improved, paving the way for thicker and higher-quality insulation applications. We expect the new TS 825 Standard to improve energy efficiency in buildings by 25 percent compared to the previous standard.
According to the new standard, minimum insulation thicknesses in Ankara and the surrounding provinces of Bartın, Bolu, Düzce, Çankırı, Çorum, Eskişehir, Karabük, Kırıkkale, and Kırşehir, which are located in the 4th Climate Zone, have been updated as follows: exterior walls from 6–7 cm to 9–10 cm, roofs from 12–14 cm to 15–17 cm, and floors from 7 cm to 10 cm. Yozgat province, as well as the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara and the Çerkeş district of Çankırı, are located in the 5th Climate Zone. In this region, minimum insulation thicknesses have been further increased, with exterior walls updated from 8–9 cm to 13–15 cm, roofs from 15–17 cm to 19–21 cm, and floors from 8 cm to 13 cm.”
During the program, topics including increasing energy efficiency in buildings, correct application techniques in thermal insulation, energy performance assessment processes, and relevant legislative regulations were addressed. Throughout the seminar, theoretical knowledge and practical application examples were shared with participants, aiming to enhance awareness of sustainability and energy efficiency within the construction sector.
As Bonus Yalıtım, we believe that the widespread adoption of energy efficiency and the promotion of qualified applications are of great importance both environmentally and economically. We believe that such training programs enhance the knowledge level of industry professionals and contribute to strengthening high-quality construction standards, and we will continue to support these efforts together with our stakeholders.
