High-Performance Insulation Assurance for Modern Industrial Buildings
Located in the Akyurt Industrial Zone, one of Ankara’s developing manufacturing and industrial corridors, the project carried out by contractor TEYAŞ TDV Eğitim Yatırım in cooperation with Komaş İnşaat stands out with its strong infrastructure and its approach focused on long-lasting building performance. In the project, carried out with the assurance of Bonus Insulation, a total of 27,000 m² of Bonus Membran Proof 4.5 mm EP 450 H and 30,000 m² of Bonus XPS Platin were selected through the joint efforts of experienced applicator İzokar Insulation and our dealer Tiritoğlu Dizayn Yapı Malzemeleri. In this way, a high-performance, reliable, and long-lasting insulation system was created from the foundation of the building onward, providing protection against water, moisture, heat loss, and challenging climatic conditions.In industrial buildings, structural performance and sustainability cannot be evaluated solely on the basis of production capacity, architectural scale, or technical infrastructure criteria. The true engineering value of a building is directly related to the durability, safety, and continuity of performance it will demonstrate against water, moisture, temperature fluctuations, heat loss, and environmental effects throughout its service life. For this reason, insulation systems in modern industrial buildings have gone beyond being auxiliary building components and have become one of the key engineering elements that determine the durability, energy efficiency, and operational safety of the building.
Bonus Membran Proof 4.5 mm EP 450 H, used in the project, protects the building from its most critical point—the foundation—thanks to the advanced technology it offers, particularly in foundation and single-sided retaining wall waterproofing applications. Thanks to its highly SBS-modified elastomeric structure, the system achieves full adhesion to fresh concrete through the heat generated during concrete hydration, integrating with the surface and minimizing the formation of voids. In this way, it creates a strong and uninterrupted barrier against groundwater pressure while preventing localized water movement, thereby helping to secure the building’s load-bearing system for many years.
With a structure capable of maintaining its flexibility even at -20°C, high resistance to puncture, and the advantage of application without the need for protective concrete, Bonus Membran Proof increases application speed on site while also providing significant efficiency in installation processes. With these features, the product is not merely a waterproofing membrane, but a strong system solution that provides long-lasting performance, safety, and investment sustainability in industrial buildings.
