A Solution Bringing Nature and Structures Together: Bonus Platin Botanik PP300

In the Alakent Residential Complex renovation project located in Merkezefendi, Denizli, Bonus Yalıtım’s high-performance membrane solutions were preferred for green space applications above the parking structure. Within the scope of the project, the Bonus Platin Botanik PP300 membrane, specially developed for green roof systems, was applied as a double-layer system.

One of the most significant challenges of modern urban life is the gradual reduction of green spaces due to increasing urbanization and concrete development. For this reason, green roof systems have increasingly gained preference in the architecture and construction sectors in recent years. Offering both aesthetic and ecological advantages, these systems create breathable spaces within cities while also contributing to the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings.

However, the most critical factor in green roof and podium landscape applications is the resistance of the insulation material to plant roots. Over time, roots may penetrate the insulation layer and cause water leakage, threatening both the health of the green area and the structural safety of the building. This is precisely where the Bonus Platin Botanik PP300 membrane comes into play.

Thanks to its root-resistant structure, Bonus Platin Botanik PP300 eliminates the risk of plant roots damaging the insulation layer over time. Its flexible structure adapts to movements caused by seasonal temperature variations, while its high UV resistance provides durability against solar radiation, extending the service life of the material. The double-layer application enhances system reliability, ensuring long-term protection for both the green area and the building.

Green roofs not only provide aesthetic value but also reduce the urban heat island effect, support rainwater management, and improve the energy performance of buildings. However, when the correct insulation material is not selected, all these advantages may be put at risk. Water leakage, root-related deformation, and material deterioration can negatively affect both structural durability and the sustainability of green areas. Bonus Platin Botanik PP300 eliminates these risks by offering a high-performance solution that architects and engineers can confidently rely on.
